Sorry to add another one of these topics but i would like you to recommend me a headset or headphones because my laptop comes with a decent mic. The headset would primarily be used for gaming hence the title. I am not by any means a audiophile i just want to be able to hear enemy's movement and whether or not they are opening a briefcase to plant a bomb. My budget will probably be around $100 with some wiggle room.
This will be my first set of headphones. I'm usually a in-ear user but it seems that my IEM's won't suffice. which are the JVC XX, Sennheiser CX 280, and Sennheiser CX 300 II.
Thanks.

Check out the Plantronics GameCom series. They're a company that makes nothing but headsets, and they seem pretty well respected at what they do.
There's the GameCom 377, which is stereo, using standard 3.5mm plugs for the headphones and mic, which you can get for $30 or so on Amazon (it was a $50 headset when it came out). Then there's the 777, which is the same headset, but with virtual 7.1 surround sound and USB connectivity. It originally sold for $100, but now you can find them for around $50. -
I'm currently eyeing:
Turtle Beach P11 - $80
Plantronics GameCom 367 - $50-$70
Koss SB45 - $52
I'm really not sure which one to pick in terms of what i need them for. I'll probably use sites such as Gaming Headphones, PC Game Headphones, Skullcandy Gaming Headphones, Xbox 360 Headphones - MyMemory and eBay.com i may also use local sites to New Zealand if the price difference isn't that big. -
For under $100, without question, get the Corsair HS1 USB (not the analog HS1A). I don't know about pricing in New Zealand, but you can get them for about $55 shipped in the United States.
1) Every review site that touches these headphones comments that you get an incredible amount of sound quality for their price when they were first released ($100 MSRP). The fact that the street price for these is now $55 makes them an even better deal.
2) Apparently, they are very comfortable for extended session wear, because of the memory foam used in the ear cups. Another huge plus.
3) They offer surround sound support in headphones. These have Dolby Headphone support, which takes a 5.1 / 7.1 input audio signal, and downmixes it into 2.0 stereo headphones. If you're using these headphones for just music, then Dolby Headphone is useless. If you're using these headphones for gaming, then Dolby Headphone is fantastic. -
If you're looking at the 367, I would suggest bumping it up a bit to the 777. The 777 has a USB sound card that supplies 5.1 surround sound. The surround effect is pretty solid for a headset that I paid about 50 bucks shipped for.

Hmmmm both headsets suggested are $140 and higher in New Zealand. hahaha our prices are jacked up. I suppose it will be cheaper to purchase them on eBay.
Do you have any sites where i could purchase them and they will offer international shipping?
But thanks for the information regarded. Repped. -
Edit: Amazon also sells the Corsair HS1s for about 55 USD. -
I visited the Amazon site and i could only find Corsair HS1A that go for $55 HS1s went for $70-$80.
The GameCom 777 turned out to be $120 with currency conversion. But i was fortunate to find someone selling the GameCom 777 on TradeMe which is similar to eBay but exclusive to New Zealand and was to pick that up for $80.
Huge thank you for all the suggestions.
Not another recommend me a gaming headset.
