Can I somehow bypass the 5v USB input power and power the fans with a 4 pin power from a psu in nearby desktop?

the fans are rated 5V DC. if by 4-pin connector you mean a Molex 8981 or a Berg connector, then you can use the red (+5V) and black (GND) wires to power the fans.
