I am considering purchasing a sleeve from sfbags.com, but I need a backpack to go along with it. The sleeve alone is pretty darn expensive so I need a much cheaper backpack to fit my budget. I wouldn't mind a tank, but I know that may be asking too much.

    Budget: $60.00

    Notebook: HP Pavilion dv6500t

Likes: Quality material, durable clips/straps/zippers, a backpack that doesn't scream, "Hey, steal my laptop!"

Dislikes: Unnecessary extras, crappy design, showy colors

Any and all help is appreciated.

Maybe the Ogio Politan? It's made to fit 17" laptops so your dv6500t should fit in there fine. Can be put into a black color if you dont like the colors, and Ogio makes good quality bags.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that isn't exactly what I am looking for. I would like a backpack that is simple in design, heavy on padding, and has a few pockets for accessories. It must also accomodate a vertical sleeve. I don't want things too cramped.

Pretty nice I must say, but will the notebook compartments hold a notebook in a sleeve? I know it is supposed to "flex" but I have my doubts.

Try checking out the Mobile Edge Express Backpack too. I have the same laptop and the Express backpack carries it perfectly.
