I've had a search around the forum, but I didn't know what exact word or phrase to look for so I decided to open a new thread, feel free to lock/remove if it's already been covered.

I'm looking for a case for my notebook, basicaly a perfectly fix padded case that fits my 14.1" notebook so I can store it in another bag. I don't need to carry anything else so I'm looking for a case that works like a pillowcase? where it covers the notebook with padding so it doesn't get too bashed around in my backpack. I hope that was enough detail to get my question out.

Is there a website that sells them? Any recommendations? Preferably Australian or what would be better if any Australian stores that stock them so I could go and pick one up.

    Thanks.
    Brendan.

Sounds like you're looking for a notebook sleeve. There are a number of them mentioned here, and some look very good, with padded flaps on some, etc. I'm sorry I don't remember the names of the brands, but I'm sure a simple forum search for "sleeve" should get you a good starting point.

    Good luck.

I also have a 14.1'' notebook and was also in the search for a notebook sleeve in order to carry it around in my book bag during the day at school.

I found that a lot of the companies that manufacture sleeves have yet to come out with one that fits a 14.1'' notebook just right. It may be that the 14.1'' widescreen is just too new to the market.

However, I ended up buying the Booq Vyper L which is $54.95 plus shipping. That particular sleeve is made for a 15'' notebook, but with a little modification on my part (I bought some foam and lined the inside with it), it now fits my 14.1'' like a glove. The price may seem a little steep for a sleeve as you can get some for under $30, but I have been impressed with the styling and the build quality of it, so I believe it is worth the money.

I also looked at the crumpler sleeves and the sumdex sleeve, but neither of those offer one for a 14.1'' also.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the replies, I had on the look on the internet and didn't have much luck, seeing I'm not very good with the search engines anyway.
I decided to go on ebay and found this case it's designed for the Sony VIAO but would it fit my ASUS? seeing my notebook is 14.1" also.

    Thanks.
    Brendan.

I would get the dimensions of your notebook and match them with the given dimensions for the sleeve you linked to on eBay to make sure it would fit fine.

another sleeve to look at could be the REI notebook sleeve. It's pretty cool. You can store the sleeve in your backpack and messenger bag and have access to the laptop. This is because you can open the sleeve either vertically or horizontally. Also, the padding in there is pretty good. It feels like memory foam. Retaisl for $30.

Another sleeve that i was looking at was the Shinza. This one is cool because you can open the zipper all around but it's $30+S/H so it's kinda expensive.

I'm pretty happy witht he REI one. It fits my Asus W3J well though i wish it was a little bit longer. I have trouble sometimes closing the vertical lid, but that's ok since i still have the strap in my backpack to lock the laptop in. I just wanted to get some padding for my laptop while it was in the backpack.
