Hey all I play some games with my laptop on my bed.... I know thats bad, but somethimes I just have to do it. My computer has been getting hot lately and I want to get a notebook cooler. I would really like some recomendations for this!!! So far the only one ive been looking at is the VANTEC LapCool2 Notebook Cooler. I like how it can be angled for easyer typing on a desk and also go on your lap. O yes, I have a 15.4 widesreen laptop.

Also are there any notebooks out there that have a swive on it? I use my notebook as a TV as well via tv tuner and I have to pick it up and turn it to get the thing to face the right way, I was wondering if any notebook coolers have something where I can just turn the computer easyer? This is not really a big thing for me, just would be nice :) Thanks all!!!

Intergrate the Cooler onto a Lazy Susan? :p

    That's pretty neat idea, LOL!

    Go patent it! ;)

hmm seems the lapcool2 shoots the hot air down at your lap....
so anyone have any other recomendations? Possibly one that shoots the air out the sides or the back of the cooler? Thanks!

I have a Targus Chill Mat, which shoots the air out the back...but it doesn't swivel or angle or anything...works pretty well though.

hey all I really want to get the most cooling power avalible. And if I get a cooler that blows down wouldnt that be bad since it would blow onto my lap? Ive been looking around and found this guy!! I really dont care about the extra battery drain since I almost allways have my notebook pluged in.

Anyone know anything about this laptop cooler?

I also have the Targus Chill Mat. Its cheap and plastic but it does the trick. In my experience with this, it does such a good job that by the time the air gets blown back out it's acually fairly cool. The only problem comes if the vents get clogged (like if you're in bed and have a big blanket on, and the chill mat sinks into it.) If this happens you dont get the ventilation you need. I would say that this might be a problem if the vents blow down instead of to the sides. If your legs block the vents, it might not do its job.

Same over here - I too have a Targus Chill Mat. Bought it at Best Buy a few weeks ago.

It is plastic, which does nothing for heat absorbtion, but it is really quiet, and lowered my hard drive temperature signifigantly on my old laptop - it went from 58 degrees down to 43!

I recommend getting an aluminum one if you can, they will do a better job of cooling the computer. ;) Vantec makes a pretty nice one.

Yeah you kindof have to see it to appreciate it. It's a lot cheaper than the others, it works great, and you don't drain your battery with a fan.

I like it cuz it's comfy.

That's a pretty nice device. No fans though...you can pick up a Targus Chill Mat for around $19 off Amazon. I've got one, it does a good job. It's plastic though, so it doesn't absorb heat very well. Vantec makes some of the best cooling pads. ;)

The Xpad really blocks the heat out so you can have it on your lap. It uses induction or something to drive the heat out the sides. Check out their design page -- Xpad Design
