I've got an M6BN and i added a ram chip and seems to have increased heat (obvious because its generating heat on the bottom side of the unit). I was thinking of getting a notebook cooler to solve this issue (would rather have a cooler fan running than the laptop fan). I was wondering if anyone has invested in a notebook cooler and what your take is on it. You think that its worth it? Or would i just be wasting my money in getting one? The unit is not considerably hot but seems that the low speed fan is running all the time and its not the sound that quite bothers me but rather the fact that the fan is running, you know what i mean... anyway thanks for your reply!

I have 2 notebook coolers, an antec one and a targus one. The antec is much better looking, is thicker and built out of aluminum and quality plastic. Its also quite noisy 30+dB.
The targus is a cheapie, that is thinner and made out of cheap plastic, its also very quiet. I use the targus one to keep my removable HDDs cool (it does a great job) and the antec one is used by my wife for her M2N. She moves it around alot and has it sitting on soft surfaces, thus the cooler help prevent the vents from becoming blocked.
I don't use a notebook cooler on my M6Ne. Although I'm about to add an extra stick of ram so maybe I'll get one then (will probably get the coolermaster coolpad, its quieter than the antec).

Ended up getting the vantec one, cools the outside very well the base is quite cool to the touch, this will protect the battery and keep the hard drive away from any possible overheat issues. It also keeps the ram slot very very cool. The one suggested, the aluminum one wouldnt work well for this laptop model as the vent is on the side and not on the bottom like alot of other laptops. I was tempted to go for the coolmaster but i was bought by the nifty usb hub and the storage slots on the bottom. The unit is not as quiet as i hoped but it does its job well. I was disappointed that it didnt stop the fan from spinning but i guess it cant be perfect. There's a nice review posted on http://hi-techreviews.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=807 .
