I need a notebook cooler for my Asus Z71V.

The type of cooler I want does not need a stand, because I always have the laptop on my lap.

I would like it to be powered by USB from my laptop

http://www.avadirect.com/images/items/NBK-ASU-Z71A_G4.jpg that's a picture of the back of my laptop so you can see where the fans are located.

    Cost doesn't matter

I'd obviously perfer it to be quiet, but if thats not an option so be it.

I use my laptop for gaming if that matters

    Thanks for your help!

PS: I am considering http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=224&code=030 The Zalman ZM-NC1000, but my laptop is the most hot at the top, and that cooler looks like it doesnt have a fan under the top...

Also, if people are thinking the Spire Pacific Breeze cooler, I dont think that will work either because I always have my notebook on my lap, so I need a pad of some sort

You might have luck with Targus Chillmate,it's very good.
Note : The best coolers even the pacific breezer decreases the CPU & GPU temps at most by 4 degreez.
So I assume your doing this to save yourself from being singed.

Yeah, I got slightly burned from it once. It gets extremely hot, sometimes I cant believe the plastic doesnt melt...

That one doesnt look like one that people would use on their lap, and the two fan places look like they wouldn't be under my laptop fans >_<

It does not matter if it is over the fans, only that it elevates the notebook and moves air underneath it. Mines is a Targus Chill Pad, and the fan pulls air against my fan, but I also have the back of the notebook up because of the super capacity battery. I would say get the Chill Pad, it lowered my temperatures from CPU/GPU from 42C degrees to 39C, and the hdd from 43C to 30C when just surfing the web/ word processing.

Does the chill pad blow air out the back?
