I have sometimes seen laptop owners place a pad/cloth between their LCD and keyboard prior to closing the "lid"... I imagine this serves as both a buffer and for cleaning purposes (ie absorbing oils off keyboard, etc).

Do they manufacture cloths/pads specifically for this purpose or is this just another practical use of micofiber cleaning cloths??

Yea, ShaggyMac cloth. I had two, and so far, both are good. I mean, I don't really see that it does anything, though its advertised as something that protects the screen from the oils and dead skin cells when you close the laptop.

I don't use it to clean my screen, I have a microfibre cloth for that :p

The cloth is not much of an investment in terms of cost, its only $15~ shipped, but I found it useful, or so I think. Peace of mind haha :D

I had a sheet of foam that I got with my laptop. Didn't use it much, but I guess it would do the trick.
