I ordered an Envy14 on the day of the release, and I want a sexy mouse to go with it.
I'm going to use it in college and carry it with me everywhere I go, so I'll just need portability.
Replacing the batteries now and then isn't really an issue for me, and I can even get rechargeable batteries in costco or something.
I just need these:
-Portability
-NANO RECEIVER****
--OR BLUETOOTH (With good reviews regarding connectivity and re-connectivity only)
-Case preferred but not necessary, I can buy my own on eBay or something
-Black
My budget's around 50, which is why I'm not getting the Razer Orochi right now lol.
I plan to do some gaming, and programmable buttons would be nice, but the scrolling wheel that moves horizontally is good enough for me.
Any recommendations?
Looking at the Logitech M505 right now
-
The Logitech VX nano would be my suggestion. I've had one for a couple years now, and I love the thing. I suppose you could also look for a deal on the newer version which is the MX Anywhere Mouse. Not sure you can find the MX for <$50, though. The VX retails around $30-$50 nowadays.

I have the Logitech M305 and I love it. It's comfortable, very responsive in FPS games, and tracks on most surfaces.
You will definitely love the M505. It's a better version of my mouse. -
Although I prefer full-sized palm-grip mice, I do own one "mobile" mouse that I love.
Razer Orochi. It bloody rocks!
On-the-fly DPI changes are great and when plugged into USB you can configure pretty much EVERYTHING about it.
Better prices available if you look. -
The nanos are perfect for on the go. But my spider monkey fingers are too long for the small size. I have to use the Logitech Performance MX, which is a little less portable, but more comfortable for me during extended use.
-
I have Razer Orochi with my laptop. It's nice. Not having to waste a USB port is also a bonus as well and not having to worry about a USB adapter is double plus even if it's a nano usb receiver.

I have the log M505, I like it. Very nice grip.

Wow, thank you all!
I was actually looking into ALL you guys said.
The VX, I can't find anywhere under $50.. I'm bidding on one on eBay, but someone already bid past $50.
I'm considering to just get the MX on amazon for 49.99
Or the M505, which I can buy on the HP website for around 25 sounds good too, except I like the extra buttons that the MX has.
And please don't get me started on the Orochi.
It's sexy, it's bluetooth, it's perfect, but pricey... it's like 20 dollars more than what I would want to spend...
+ the battery life is worse when compared to logitech ones, and I hear it does badly on beds. -
Anywhere Mouse FTW! Bring it, use it, anywhere!
It's the VX Nano's latest incarnation
I had the VX Nano as well, lovely mouse. Sad to say it's died after 3 years of wonderful clicking and meters of swiping.

All I hear about are amazing things for the Orochi. I think it would be wise to hold off and wait till you can get that. Wont need any receivers sticking out and wasting your usb ports.

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 - Graphite
Can't comment on quality vs the Logitech, but if a small inexpensive wireless with Nano technology and ability to be used on any surface is attractive, the Microsoft 4000 is available for $20 at OfficeMax: -
I got the Razer Orochi and it is worthless as a wireless gaming mouse. You must plug it in if you want to game. The mouse is ultra conservative on battery and will turn off after only 1-2 secs of no movement. If your gaming it can sleep on you and then there is a lag as it wakes up again.
Razer also still sucks at software. On wireless you can't change the mouse settings, you must plug it in. -
My brother had a IBM laptop, one month ago, the mice is broken by our cat, he serach online for it, but could't find a protable one. Last Monday, he got it in Gadgettown which with bluetooh and black, I hope it what you want: Black BT06 Bluetooth Wireless Mouse:wink:

I bought a mouse last year http://www.tinydeal.com/R005/cms3918-p-3554.html it still works perfectly until now, and its image is very special and interesting, it looks like a car. I think maybe you will like it.

Amazon.com: Logitech Wireless Mouse M505 (Black): Electronics
Nice price from Amazon, and it has 13 months battery life too! -
I went with the Logitech Anywhere MX after seeing it on sale at Fry's for $50 AR. Thought I might as well get it considering it's a small difference compared to some other ones I saw
-
What about the Microsoft Arc ? Thinking about buying it, anyone tried it?
-
Still, the folding compact design with the magnetic dongle holder is nice. If you don't care about comfort, it could be worse. -
+ 1 for Logitech Anywhere MX. This wireless mouse has 6 months battery life. I came across this product while searching on Amazon. Available at up to $59.44.
-
I also like its style
But if you say it is that bad, I may have to look elsewhere.. I'd like a nice looking blutooth mouse, but these seem to be really pricy.. -
I've been looking at the logitech notebook mice but I'm concerned, are there any with a proper middle click?
-
I'd recommend the Logitech VX Nano or Anywhere MX. You can probably find them on sale for around your $50 price point.
I would not save up for the Orochi. It falls asleep after a mere 2 secs. There is a slight annoying lag while it wakes up. Its bearable for desktop apps, unbearable if you plan on doing any gaming with the mouse in wireless mode. Razer software also is sucky compared to Logitech. You can't change any settings or even access the razer software while in wireless mode. -
The Logitech M505 has been wonderful so far. I can't vouch for its claimed battery life because I just bought it less than a week ago. But I can say that it's quite portable and I have no usability issues with it so far. Easy plug-and-play on both my notebook and netbook. I have big hands [I'm 5'11"] but the side grips make it comfortable to use. I just wish it had more buttons. I miss the back/forward buttons on my old Logitech mouse [so old, I don't even know what the model name was...]
