What kind of sleeve should I be getting for a notebook (name/make and place to purchase). And does anyone know if I can find a sleeve that will fit the Inspiron 700m/710m WITH the 8-Cell battery attached?

What are these sleeves made of and are they full-proof?

If you want a really nice sleeve, check out SFBags.com's neoprene sleeves. They are strong, lightweight, and customizable - I even found one for my 13.3" Fujitsu. The support staff is very helpful as well - try emailing them to see what they can do for you. They make the sleeve in the U.S.A., which is nice to see these days. The sleeves can get kind of expensive if you get lots of extras, but the basic sleeve isn't too bad, and I figure that an expensive laptop deserves a decent case.

What kind of things can be 'added on' to a notebook sleeve? I just need a simple sleeve (no other pockets neccessary, nor do I need a handle).

Thanks for the link though, i'll check it out.

nothing gets added or modified with sleeves. That is as minimal as you go.

Not exactly. you can go one way or another.

Here is a page at JR.com with their stock of Shoreline neoprene sleeves, but these are not bags. However they are stay-on sleeves that protect against nicks and stratches, etc.
This is the *only* "always on" type of sleeve that I have seen. Other sleeves are just various types of thin cases that you take off after transit.

On the other hand, you can get a regular bag which will open and allow you to use the computer in your lap without taking it out of the bag. I dont have a direct link for any of these at the moment, but I've seen them. Point being though, is that this would be heavier than simply a sleeve.

If you want to get a sleeve, that stays on, which you can work out of, and has a strap or handle of some sort.. I suggest you invent one quick and put a patent on it :)

I have seen pretty much everything on the market, nothing like that exists.

    Hey Crescent,

I ordered a S2110 recently and looking for a sleeve or bag for it. Which sleeve did you get for your S2110 that fits it? A lot companies seem to make ones for 12" and 14" laptops but I'm having trouble finding ones that's for ~13" laptops. PM me! :)

    Thanks
