i am getting a speaker soon. so i want to ask for recommendations
i know there is a whole thread of speakers
but i want to know about the bose speakers. my parents loved it than the other speakers like logitech's and looks like they are willing to pay for that. :p
should i go for it, or convince them to logitech's speakers both 5.1(ill get the creative sound card if 5.1 is selected) or 2.1.

Bose is a 4 letter word.

Extremely overpriced, highly hyped, great sound unless you happen to enjoy music, in which case they sound exactly like what they are. JUNK.

Logitech and Creative build systems for less than half the money with far superior sound. JBL, Klipsch and others build systems in the Bose price range that blow the bose out of the room.

It all depends on how much you want to spend, but remember that with bose you are paying for hype and with many others you are paying for music.

Stay away from Bose. SQ is terrible for the price. I HIGHLY recommend Klipsch. ProMedia and iFi systems are Excellent.

I concur. Just bought myself a pair of Klipsch Promedia Ultra 2.0. Great speakers. Very small footprint yet it's sound quality beats a many 2.1 speakers out there. :D
