Have you ever travelled with your laptop to a foreign country?

I have an american Dell XPS Gen 2, I just got it. At the moment I am in Ireland, and therefore the wall plugs are different, as well as the fact that the voltage output here is 220V as opposed to the US standard of 110V.

My question refers to charging my laptop. Can I use my current power supply unit, but simply change the cord that links the power supply bix to the wall socket? Or do I have to invest in a completely new power supply?

you should be able to use yourcurrent power supply unit, just buy a plug convertor and you will be fine. the actual power supply unit should show what voltage it will accept. The other way to go and it is way i went just more so just to buy a 2nd charger is to buy a universal charger like an IGO juice unit. think for your laptop you will need to buy the 120 watt one instead of the 70 watt one.

The IGo Juice travel adaptor set looks great. The one that has adaptors for a car cigarete lighter and for an airplane socket.

Will this work with my Dell XPS Gen 2?
