    Hey everyone,

I have 2 questions about Ogio backpacks (most likely going to buy one)

    1) Which one of these 3 models do you recommend and why. NYQuist, Metro or Metroid? I'm stuck between all 3. I am a student that carries ALOT of stuff, so I need alot of room.. it is important to have a padded strap and also fit my W3J firmly/nicely (14" laptop) I know the metroid would have been perfect but the missing side water bottle holder is kind of making it iffy for me.

    2) What's the difference between the 2005 and 2006 model of the NYQuist? they look exactly the same and have the exact same features.. yet hte 2005 is now half the price of the 2006!

Nothing to make you feel famous like people asking questions that just happen to call for advertising your brand new review of a product ( My Metroid review posted yesterday!)

I talked through some of the differences between the Metroid and the Metro over in the discussion thread about my review.

I haven't had my hands on a Nyquist, but it looks to be a smidgen smaller than either the Metroid and the Metro, and it sounds like it caters to bicyclists/skaters more with helmet straps and a dedicated water-bottle pocket, which the Metro/oid packs lack.

Based on the good quality of the Metroid, I'm confident that any one of the three would serve you well--you really just need to take a look at the specific features of each bag (they differ in number of fun side-pod pockets, for example: Metroid has 4, Metro has 3 and Nyquist has 2, I believe, and they have slightly different combinations of big compartments) and see which configuration matches your activities best.

As for the price, I believe retailers treat backpacks a bit like cars--they lower prices on the old model to push its sales and clear shelves even as they push the new model out at full price. The bags should be pretty equivalent--they'll be offered in slightly different colors or something.

Perfect, thanks alot! Hmm if there was only a review like that for all 3 of the bags!

I'm really leaning for the NYQuist but I'm doubting that it will be big enough.. I usually carry alot of things...

The metroid seems TOO big though.. and the metro is just ugly/no water so i think thats pretty much out..

The metro isn't ugly. I don't think so atleast. Too bad my laptop was a smidget to big for it. It can't quite handle a 15.4 inch widescreen. I could shove it in, but I almost had to cut the bag to get it out.

Had to settle for a Dakine Team backpack, which is still really nice, but I wish I could have found a Metroid to test if its laptop compartment was big enough.
