    Hey guys,

I'm looking for this laptop bag, well actually I'm going nuts looking for it  . I waited to buy it until I got my new Laptops and I regret not buying before because Oakley has now discontinued the bag. :(

Oakley S.I. COMPUTER BAG - Purchase Oakley bags and backpacks from the online Oakley store

Anyway if anybody knows any retailers that still have stock can you please let me know ASAP or if anybody has one they don't use please give me a shout.

The reason I want this specifically is because I travel LONG HAUL every couple of weeks and this would be perfect for we with additional storage and the super durability and because I can't find ANY bags that come close to this one.

Oakley Bags SI Computer Bag SKU #7230173 - YouTube

    Thanks guys :D

I've got one, and I love it. One of the few bags that will handle larger notebooks, tons of accessories, the front pouches are great for cables, mice, adapters, I slip the iPad behind the padded insert and have even once carried the wifes 13" MBP in the main section.

Love the design too with the heavy duty latches, etc., it's done a ton of trips to DC, NYC, Pittsburgh, Chicago and it looks almost brand new and I think I've had it for like 4-5 years or so. I picked it up at an Oakley store that was closing for like 50% off which was a steal.

I'm a huge fan of Oakley products in general, stellar design, excellent customer service.

I realize that doesn't help you :D ... just wanted to reinforce your decision to track one down! Good luck!

I just came back form the local stores looking for laptop bags. What a waste of time. They are mostly very small and although reletivley well designed, terrible value for money so I know exactly what you mean.

I have an old leather messenger type I use at the moment and I can fit both my 17" laptops in it comfortably but as soon as I start whacking in extra chargers and files, iPad this and that it really starts to shrink. Plus it's getting a little old now at 10 years. Served me well though, all over the globe with daily use and still going strong.

With the Si I can still remain cool and smart rather than mature and professional with the added bonus of extra storage and space.

Is the Si big enough to fit 2 17" with extra's?

I have this bag for my previous m17x-R2 , it fits perfectly but it won't fit my m18x , I brought this bag for a month and used 2-3times and left it filled with dust lol.

SI is not big enough to fit 2 17"s(alienware) , unless your laptop is flat enough. The possible is 17" + 15" Macbook. The extra case only fits 15" laptop.

I am in a similar situation as you, I carry 2 laptops long haul frequently, plus 1 spare battery, plus cables etc, the laptops are 17" and 14". I still have not found the right bag. Any thoughts are more than appreciated!

I thought I'd update and review my Si bag for those still looking...

Overall build quality of the bag is, technical term, "Badd ". It really is on another level when you compare to any other laptop bag, or any other bag in general to be perfectly honest.

Size wise it has lots of small & large pockets here n there a few standard features, pen pockets, mesh, zip pockets etc. Honestly speaking if the bag was 1" larger in both width and height it would be a little easier to manage. As already mentioned I use a leather messenger (briefcase style) currently and can comfortably fit 2x17" laptops 2x batteries plus charges iPad and all accesories. Now although I dont always carry so much crap, it does come in handy. However the Oakley does not stand a chance carrying the amount of gizmos I generally do. 1x17" Laptop plus accessories at best. The bag also comes with a small removable sleeve for your laptop which again should ideally be 1" larger to accomodate a decent 17" laptop.

Another slight gripe I have is that it's rather fiddly and floppy to get in and out of, usually meaning laying it down taking a few seconds on each latch and then following the flap, zipper and pouch. This could be considered pro & con because in saying that, once its in, its in and the bag really provides so much security in terms of protection and padding its very impressive.

The strap is awesome, clips are again, badd , strap is very comfortable on the shoulder but should really be on a swivel loop so you don't constantly have to untangle the damn thing before slinging it over your shoulder lol.

All in all the bag is good but should be great for the $200 price tag :)

Is this the good 'badd' or the bad 'badd' when you're talking about build quality?

All I can say is My Eyes, They Burn...

I'm sure you can get less hideous 'real' tactical bags.

e.g. my Messenger Of Doom takes a compact 17-incher in the padded compartment, has PALS webbing inside and under the flap so you can attach additional storage as you wish, and last but not least it doesn't make you look like a total [shower in French which is filtered on this board].

Though I'm not a huge fan of carrying a 17-incher in a messenger bag for any length of time - not great for the back.

If you're a military or government employee you can buy the SI bag from usstandardissue.com for $87.50. Just in case someone qualified for the program but didn't know

You have no idea how much you just made my day, man. I purchased one of these originally to carry my electronics in when the bag first came out. I pretty much kept my entire computer toolkit in it, organization within (+the pouches outside) was superb.

While pulling barracks duty early one morning, one of the Marines wanted me to have a look at his laptop, so I brought the bag into the duty hut to work on it. A few hours later, while I was over at our company office changing over to go off shift with our 1st SGT, some swiped the whole damn bag out of the duty hut. Was so, SO PISSED.

I checked sometime last year real quick on Google and couldn't find it. Purchasing a new laptop this week, and figured I'd give it one more shot...EBay has a few listed for like ~$200+, .

    So, THANK YOU!

I used to own a Sony Vaio UX (micro computer / umpc, basically Sony's version of the OQO). I had the dock so I could hook it up to an external monitor. When I flew back home for pre-deployment leave, I'm pretty sure I packed the Sony UX, it's dock, a Logitech Dinovo wireless keyboard, the freaking external monitor, and all the numerous cables/AC adapters, 2 wireless mice (Logitech Revolution desktop + mobile), mp3 player, USB memory card reader, USB port replicator/extender, EVERYTHING into this one bag.

The extra feature I do like most is the M.O.L.L.E. weave on the outside. The versatility that adds cannot be overstated. With the huge selection of M.O.L.L.E. compatible pouches and whatnot, it's almost certain that you can find an add-on that fits whatever your need is.

    Hey Robrain,

Please post back once it arrives. I've heard it's up to 6 months backordered from a Oakley store who is familiar with usstandardissue.com internally. Hope it's not the case. Only thing stopping me from making my order today.

    Thanks!

USSI usually takes their sweet time to get back ordered items to you, but then again I'd prioritize bags going to stores that sell them for $200 as opposed to a site that sells them for under half of that.

I hear you when it comes to getting stuff stolen at work, these guys would steal your dirty underwear if you din't lock it up...

I paid $160 for a Timbuk2 custom bag, loved having the option to change colors and trim. Awesome size for a 17" Alienware M17x (retd.) and power supply, Nook, ipod/large headphones, spare clothes, phones/wallets etc. Plus it can be used on a bike/motorbike with a strap that is provided.
