    Hey,
I've been looking for a backpack for ages and I have at least 2 more months of holidays to find a backpack suitable enough for College next year (university here in Aus). recently I was going to purchase the Caribee download 15' laptop bag but the laptop compartment is in the centre of the backpack (weird I know) and it doesn't have much space for anything else so I'm still looking.

then I stumbled across this little gem on the Oakley site here
    HTML:

and I was hoping someone here could tell me if this is a great bag or not as there are no internal shots available on the net and I have no idea about size.

this bag is not available in Australia and I would need to import it from the U.S but if its good I'll do it!

thanks again, this site is always helpful

I have an older version of that bag - mine is just plain black, not the camo design.

    It's a great bag, it's a huge bag - very roomy inside.

According to the specs it's over 52 liters, in my book that's freaking ginormous to carry around every day. My bag is a North Face "Bandwidth" and at 30 liters I can stuff enough junk in there that I need to use both shoulder straps to carry it for longer than a minute or two. I have a 14.1" laptop and the 30-liter bag fits that quite comfortably and would hold a 15.4"-er snugly. I could use my bag on an overnight trip including a change of clothes and a few accessories like iPod and digital camera. Be sure you need half again that size for everyday use.

Plus, for what it's worth that's a butt-ugly bag and too expensive at $135. Other than that it looks great ;) At any rate, ask the rabbit. I wouldn't buy any bag he don't like if I were you.

Yeah, I agree - it's HUGE - too big for every day use, unless you really want/need that much room. I use it a lot for weekend trips or something. It's also like a big duffle bag, it's just a big bag, hard to organize much, but great for stuffing.

I've had my icon since mid-2005. It's the icon 2.0 and I don't know if the size specifications are the same but this is for the one I have DIMENSIONS: 17" x 21" x 9" (3,213 cubic inches) / 43.2cm x 53.3cm x 22.9cm (52,729 cubic centimeters). At the time, it was available in night camo color and that's what I have.

It's a very well built sturdy back pack. It comes with a waist strap and one that you can hook across your chest. I rarely use them but they're there if you need it. They keep your bag from sliding up and around when you're bending over etc. It easily holds up to a 15" laptop plus lots of books but be careful, it can get heavy in a hurry with too many books. I use it for school. I have to say that I worry about carrying my laptops in backpacks with cheap flimsy straps. I never worry with this one. I've had it for over 2 years now and it still looks like new. They're expensive but worth it for the quality.

At 5'10", it shouldn't be too big for you. I'm 5'9" and female and I carry this thing around just fine.

oh, I also forgot to add, just for size perspective that this bag will fit my 17" widescreen Dell Inspiron e1705 but just barely. It does not fit in the notebook compartment but the general storage area. So basically, the bag is about as tall as the longest point of the Inspiron with an extra inch or two. The bag also narrows slightly towards the top.
