I just got my G15 the other day and I must say it rocks. I love being able to monitor system resources on the fly.

What I was wondering if anyone know and good apps for the LCD. I am looking for something free that can monitor more than just CPU and RAM usage. HD activity would be nice, but what I would also be interested in is temperatures.

Also, please post and other cool apps you know.

    Thanks.

Yea, the fraps thing is pretty handy. I really like monitoring what my two cores are doing in gaming, not to mention how much RAM I am using.

Only thing I didn't like about this keyboard is how the paint wears off of the keys(It tends to wear off pretty fast) But being a painter I just took some automotive clear coat to it and that makes it last much longer.

You put some clear coat on the keys? That is a good idea. I wish it had USB 2.0 too. Other than that, I love it!

Yeah, its automotive, so its very strong. With my first few G15's then the paint wore off really quick. So I started to clear coat them as I got them(For me and my friends)

First few? Jeez, makes it sound like these are disposable keyboards which at $80+ a pop is something I'd rather avoid. Is the paint issue really that bad?

Its not that bad really, it does tend to wear off more than other key boards, but thats because they are back lit. I wouldn't let the paint issue stop you from buying one, because they're so nice(Hence the reason I kept buying them even though I knew the paint wore off of them). Yeah, I have a few computers and then theres all my friends who each have a few computers, so between all of us we've ordered alot of stuff. Overall though, its pretty much the nicest keyboard I've used.

Well they look the same as normal, I just mask of the outter areas, and spray it with my clear coat. I don't worry about doing anything between the keys. You could probably do it with the rattle can cpear coats and have it work pretty good, my advice with using rattle cans though, do it in VERY thin coats, just apply many of them. I'd test it on my old key board if I was you though.

Why oh why do you guys need to have a $70 keyboard. What's wrong with a $5 one from a local PC shop.

I agree that you need a good mouse, but the G15 seems to me like a waste of money. All those programmable "G" buttons can be substituted for letters on a normal keyboard.

Actually there are some things I really like about the G15 that you can't find on other keyboards. For example, my favorite thing is to be able to monitor system resources while playing a game (CPU load, RAM load, etc.). While this may be boring to some, it is really interesting to me. Also, having illuminated keys is really nice when you are gaming in the dark.

The G-Keys I actually haven't really gotten into yet. I didn't get the keyboard for the G-Keys.

I agree it is an expensive keyboard (most expensive keyboard I have ever owned), but it does have a nice feel to it. That is for sure. Kind of the difference in feel between a nice mouse and a cheap one.

I work as a professional painter. I paint peoples houses, usually top of the line custom homes. So thats where I learn it all from.
