    Hi,

I have one optical out cable and would like to connect it to a 7.1 Creative Inspire p7800 system, which requires 5 3.5mm inputs. I don't care if it's true 7.1, just as long as each speaker is outputting sound. I was thinking of:

Optical out to 3.5mm converter --> 3.5mm splitter -->3.5mm splitter-->3.5mm splitter= total of 6 3.5mm inputs of which I can use 5 for the speakers.

However, will this be possible? Can I split an already split 3.5mm line?

I do not want an external USB sound card but if there is an external sound card that plugs into the headphone jack, that would be good too.

    Thanks
