So I was walking away from my workstation when my bottle of water tipped over. It spilled into the optical mouse. No more lights, no response. I will let it dry off, perhaps, and I will check it out in the morning. It is likely going to rest in peace to enjoy the big cheese in the sky. :(

    God rest its soul. :p

Anyone know if there is a chance for its revival or resurrection?

They need to make spill proof mice and keyboards for people like me. Luckily it didn't get on MY laptop. :D

It was a corded mouse. After drying, it started to work again. Its little red light came back on, after putting it into the USB port. It moved the pointer so gleefully after its little slumber.

Some of my brothers have spilled huge cups of water on thier logitech key boards, just took the keys off of them and dried them out.. and they still work to this day. Yet another reason I like Logitech. :D

The mouse IS a Logitech. That's cool!

Luckily it wasn't something sticky like hot chocolate or Yoo Hoo or something.

whenever you spill liquid in something, electronic, the best practice is to power it down, and turn it upside-down so that the liquid can go back out the way it came in. depending on the expensive of the electronic, i'd give it anywhere from a few hours to a couple days to dry.
