Hey guys,
I figure that now is a good a time as any to upgrade to a new wireless keyboard. Below is a pic I just took of my current cheap-cheap keyboard where I snapped off the 'windows' button because I kept hitting it accedentially when trying to ctrl + C stuff. It also has only 3' of cable and is a PS/2 port (yea I know) so I can't be lazy and lie down and type (which is my ultimate goal).

I'm looking into getting a new black Logitech MX keyboard to match my new Acer 19" monitor I got from newegg. Any recommendations? Price range ~$80 max, custom buttons would be cool too. Needs to be wireless.
What do you guys recommend? Feel free to reply with your keyboard pics![]()

That's going pretty cheap here, not sure if it's a trusted site though:

49.99$ for keyboard and mouse, normal prices are 80$+
Funny thing, my cousin just gave me his because he has a logitech g15. I only have the keyboard, he said he lent the mouse to his friend, i'm waiting for it. I like the keyboard ok, the lcd i don't find useful because i never look at it. The touch sensitive is ok, i'd rather have buttons though. The space bar is kinda sticky, some of the keys too... This just might be some wear and tear because his brother/sister/etc. were using it. I was looking at reviews though and its pretty bad reviews, about 2-3/5.
Also, it tends to go to sleep after a 1 minute or so to save battery power, so that first thing you type will have like a short delay. I have yet to try this extensively enough though, i've only had it for a day. -

The G15 looks like something futuristic from Space Truckers
. Lol. (Want to watch my cult classic now).

Don't care for the metal shinininess but I know since its from Logitech its probably solidly built. Opinions on the G15 or the MX anyone? Or obscure sci-fi movie references? -
I got my logitech wave for $39 (USB version, but there is a wireless version with a mouse). Very nice to use, so far so good after about a month.

mmmmmm the wave looks sleek!
do the curves help typing speed or ergonomics or something? or is it just for coolness -
Ergonomics yes. Typing speed, maybe alittle, the design is supposed to improve typing speed by reducing the distance between each key. Good for someone with short fingers like me LOL. It is very comfortable to type on though. A cheaper version would be the Microsoft comfort curve 2000 which I have at home(WAVE at uni), not sure about a wireless version though (might be one with the mouse set).

Is it me or does anyone else feel that they need to simplify these keyboards a bit? I don't even use the hot keys and will probably never use all those other "things".

If the keyboard has a few programmable keys that's all I ask. On modern keyboards you can program a key to open a specific web address right? (e.g. like a button for gmail.com)
I'd happily sacrifice the weight of a fancy keyboard with an LCD for a lighter one with a fewer bells and whistles. Comfort and a little laziness are my goals -

I find that I can type a bit faster on my wave. The buttons can be programmed to do just about anything (maybe even the dishes), definitely opening a web address.
Next time I have to buy a new keyboard it will be another wave.
Opinions Wanted then Laugh at my keyboard pic
