Looked around to try and find a bag that would fit my new laptop (which should be here in a day or 2) and I settled on the crumpler beer back. I will be posting a review if I can find somwhere to host the pictures (not sure if photobucket would be a good place for them) when the bag arrives. Anyone here have any experience with crumpler backpacks? There was a lack of reviews available on the internet for me to peruse before I chose the bag I wanted. I just knew I wanted a large bag that would fit a laptop and notebooks for school comfortably.

I wish i could have posted my thoughts already. My Crumpler shipped from Montreal on sept 12th....Canada Post guarantees max 7 days delivery on Expedited Parcels. It is now the 20th....nice guarantee Canada Post.
Hopefully I can receive it tomorrow and post some thoughts on thursday. -

we'll if it shipped on the 12th then 7 BUSINESS Days later it would arrive on the 20... but then again... Canada Air sucks the big one, so I wouldn't be suprised if Canada post is similar...
Hope you get your bag soon. -
It was an ebay store. The buyer I got it from is Photocon, they sell a lot of crumpler bags and at really good prices. Now I just have to wait for the thing to show up... and for my laptop to show up. I would recommend getting it from Photocon even if you are a Canadian buyer (which I am) because they do have a Canadian shipping address so you won't be paying duties on the item. At least thats what I was told when I called them, will post more info when the bag gets here. The total price I payed for the bag with shipping is $126 Canadian which is a pretty good deal in my opinion, considering the price on the crumpler canadian website is $210 before taxes and shipping.

Yea, I wasn't hit with customs neither. I also ordered it from Photocon
I'm looking for another one now -
hey i recently recieved my king single (15.4) back pac, i also ordered it from ebay, got a great price $65....ive been meaning to write a review but have been slammed with course work
i figure ill get around to it in maybe a week or so, but if u have any questions let me know -
It took them a WEEK to process my order, ordered was shipped on Monday, then somehow got returned to sender. (I guess they wrote the address wrong or something)
Their email respnse is great, but I'm not so sure if I would HIGHLY recommend them now that we have at least 3 guys here with similar complaints. -
It could be Canada Post...
Expedited, which is 1-2 days(or was it 2-3?) took from friday to thursday to get me my HD heh... -
I guess I would of feel better if they handled things better. Send me another bag while they wait for the Canada Post return. -
I bought mine from Photocan. Working with them has been great, its just that Canada Post is so unreliable. It was finally attempted for delivery yesterday, of course I wasn't home so I had to wait for them to drop it at the pickup location today at 1pm (they only attempt to deliver once, then you must go pick it up yourself).
Initial Impressions: This bag is a LOT smaller than I thought (King Single backpack model). They had an example pic on the auction with a 5'8 female model, and it looked rather big. She must be a short 5'8, with a small build haha, because this bag is small. Definitely fits my 15.4" inch Asus Z71V snuggly, the laptop padding is spectacular, except for the top corners where there is no protection. I really like how the laptop sleeve is completely removable, so you can open more space in the bag, or just carry the laptop by itself some days.
One thing to note, if you look at the bag sideways, it has a heavy slant front the top. This design limits your storage capacity by quite a bit, don't know why they did it, doesn't really make the bag look prettier. External pockets are nice and deep, although with the way its designed, if you use the external pockets, it actually takes space AWAY from the internal storage. The main compartment looks good to carry a lot of items that are round, square or something, more so than other bags. Appears to be very limited though on how many flat items like textbooks and binders it can carry (because of the slant top and concave sides design).
Comfort is definitely great if you adjust the shoulder pads correctly. Too much slack makes the weight sit on your lower bag painfully, so they should be tight enough that the pack sits flat on your back. Only bag I have tried that is more comfortable is the Kensington Contour (has a crazy lumbar support design that distributes weight around your body).
Style is much better than most laptop bags. It doesn't even look like one, and blends in with most backpacks on campus. The crumpler logo is kind of cute too.
Overall I'm still undecided on the pack, I want to give it a test run for about a week first. I wanted something that could carry some books and binders too, and this bag seems really small for that. If I don't like this one I will definitely buy the Kensington Contour, since I liked everything about it except for its style and how big it looks.
BTW: Is the King Single Backpack supposed to have a cell phone pouch on one of the shoulder straps? Mine didn't come with one and I thought it did. -
I ordered a Crumpler "Cashmere Blazer" from Photocon on friday, looking forward to it! I like the messenger style personally, and this one looks huge for my 15.4" laptop and assorted other stuff..
Looking forward to it! -
Mmm, I'm looking at a backpack, can't decide on which one!
I want one that can fit my laptop inside a sleeve, and have enough room for at least 2 binders. I can probrably carry the textbooks in my arms(I need to work out my spaghetti arms)

Just receive my crumpler bag (Dreadful Embarrasment) from Photoco today. Seems good, fits my 2000z + 2-3 1" binder and a thick textbook.
Initial thoughts: I was expecting the padding to be a bit thicker, so I might put my laptop in a sleeve later on. And the velcro is VERY loud. lol
I'll try to write up a short review after I use the bag for a few days. (Try to take some pics too)
Ordered a new Crumpler Beer back
