Hi I just got myself a MX Revolution mouse for the laptop and love it. One problem though. I have a problem with the wheel in in the middle of the right/left click. When I roll it on the laptop screen without a internet window open it work fine..meaning when I scroll it up or down it has the little bumps. When I am working on the internet the bumps go away and the wheel just will spin without them which I can't stand. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the somewhat poor description. I don't know any other way to put it. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the microgear thingy which switches from "bumpy" rolling to "smooth-free" rolling? o.o

Hmm I may be...where is the switch located. I am at work and not home at the moment. Thanks for the quick response...and what's odd is I can get it to stay bumpy when scrolling icons on the screen but the second I use it on the explorer internet screen it switches itself to smooth

My dad has one mouse like that. He said there is some option to change that behaviour.
Try going to Control Panel --> Mouse and see which options you got there. -
You'll need to d/l and install SetPoint if you haven't. Go to Logitech's website. In that program which is pretty good, you can set different programs to smooth scroll, or notch scroll. I personally like the low friction smooth scroll. You can tweak it depending on the program which is really cool.
You can always override the setting as well by clicking the scroll wheel. That will force it to switch modes. -

Thanks folks for the help. Downloaded the software and problem solved.

if you dont need custom key assignments, forgo the setpoint software.. it uses an uncanny amount of ram and doesn't do much.
to change between "hyperscroll" and the regular bumpy scroll, just press down on the mouse wheel and you should hear it click as it changes modes

I'm glad you love it. I bought mine a year ago and loving every awesome moment with it.

Ok crew one more question. The scroll moves incredibly slow no matter what I put the settings at on the software. Sometimes I can set the settings and it moves quickly only to have it move slow the next day but the settings haven't changed! Other then that the mouse is awesome.
