Here we are! This is part 3, and will be the last part for a little while as I will have problems with internet access in the coming weeks... :(

The poll is on what do you travel by most? And the discussion would be on whether you would pack differently(and also how) when traveling via, let say subway/underground when compared to a plane journey. :)

    Discuss!! :D

NOTE: This thread is about traveling with a notebook... :D

NOTE2: I forgot to put walking as an option, so if you do walk, just make a post! And I'll count them up :p

Johnny, I voted ~ Car!! ;) :) Which is my main transportation, other then my bike ;) :)

And, I would, of course....pack my lappy in my messenger bag, when traveling by car. If by bike, I would use my back-pack. :D :D

    Great thread, BTW ;) :)

I get everywhere by bike if possible. If its a longer trip or if i just dont have the time for biking, i take the bus or the subway/train.
Because of peer pressure im working on a drivers license atm, but i doubt ill ever use it frequently, let alone get an own car.
So that translates to a backpack

Buses and subway. Though I pack my laptop the same when I fly. Or drive. Inside a messenger/laptop bag, with a Sleeve.

Usually walking (especially where I am now) or driving/riding.

For that, I usually pack it up nice and neat but in no particular fashion due to the fact that if I need something it shouldnt be too hard to take a break from whatever I'm doing and work through my bag.

Flying though usually sees things organized to grant me a lil more access to my books, sketchpads, or DS/games.

Ill usually be walking or taking public transportation.

Either way it would be inside my messenger bag unless it fails to do its job

On longer trips, ill put it inside a sleave and use a larger bag and naturally carry more accessories then normal

2 sardines are talking to each other. One says: you know, gas prices are killing us. The says: yeah, we should stop driving our cars to work and take public transportation. What!?! And get packed in like commuters!?!?!

I walk to most places. Don't see that as an option... if it's really far more than an hour walk, probably bus or metro.

If commuting by bike then I have a Swissgear backpack.

By plane or car it's normally this small Lowepro shoulder bag. However, I also have a selection of sleeves in case I decide to put the computer into another bag.

I think the problem is that I tried to link to an attachment I had used previously.

Here's that attachment again plus a shot of the front compartment which contains various useful pockets. I would like more bags like that because the contents are easily accessible.

Right...thats it with the polls for now. I'll release a sneak peek of the guide in a few weeks time, also I have decided that the review will come in parts. The first part will be on the different type of bags available and how to pick the right one for your notebook and for you! :D

(I'll probably sent a preview of the guide to 2 or 3 people so that they can check its all good to go... :p)

For the mean time...if anyone have any pictures of your bags...I'd love to include a load of pics in the guide! (post them like John R did above) :D John, is it alright to use your pics from above? :)

Being a uni student, I take a bus to and from school, as well as to my job during the summer term. I'm thinking about switching to a messenger bag so I stop bumping people :(.

    Um depends.
Last term I was a 5 minute walking distance from my University. So I'd walk most days. My other method of transportation is my car, that's what I use the most to get around.
I'll also often travel by plane if I go visit my family or when I leave for work terms.
Either way, if I ever bring my notebook with my I bring it in my Heys backpack. I rarely bring my notebook with me during everday things (almost never bring it to University with me). But if I do it's almost in my backback, regardless of how I travel.

I either Drive or Fly in a Helicopter everywhere

And in any tip i have my 6860-FX in a vaultz aluminum case. The Driving i'm not so worried about, but on the helicopter rides the laptop could be on top and safe, or stuck under 500+lbs of other peoples bags... I prefer not to take chances.

My only wory has been the vibrations of the helicopter ride, but so far i have had zero problems due to vibrations. And the Vaultz case keeps it nice and snug and protected (though you should see some of the battle damage to the outside of the case) :D
