How much battery power do normal peripherals consume? Like my G5 mouse. Im asking since my battery life is horrible. I go through many cycles of my battery everyday, at least 4 or 5. But since i got the laptop last week ive been trying to get used to it and ive been using it all day.
Im thinking that it wont be a good idea to buy a smaller mouse for uni, because it will be clumbersome to carry around and it will decrease the battery life.

A mouse alone doesn’t draw much power to have a noticeable impact on the battery life. Running your computer in Power saver mode, reducing the LCD brightness, unloading any unnecessary background applications and disabling the wireless adapter (if not used) are some of the things you can do to significantly improve your battery life.

Undervolting is another option, reduce heat and improve battery life at the same time. win win!

Hi.
Normally a corded optical mouse uses around 100 mA , it`s should be written on the bottom somewhere.

Mice consume very little power. If you've ever owned a wireless mouse you know that a single AAA can keep one running for 6 months. If you're cycling your battery 4-5 times per day, you definitely need to make some changes to your power settings. Also, I'd be concerned about the effect that kind of use is going to have on your battery's life. If you're cycling it 4-5 times a day, that means it's probably very hot all day long which ultimately means it will be die a very quick death.

Another quesiton. I just hooked up my surround sound system to my laptop, will this consume a lot of battery power? Since it consists of two large speaks and a sub.
Or is the power consumed by the laptop the same as what the volume is set at on the laptop?
Like: laptop - full volume, sound system - low volume = high laptop battery consumption. laptop - low volume, sound system - high volume = low laptop batter consumption. ?? -
