I have scoured the interwebz for a solution to this with no luck. I have a ac powered 7 port usb hub that will not turn off my keyboard, mouse, and gaming pad upon the computer shutting down. The funny part is when I do a fresh install of windows it will shut them off for a while, then one day i will shut it down and it keeps them on from there on out. I have tried a belkin hub and a dynex hub and they both did the same thing. and they also did this with my current computer (Asus G75) and my former computer (Asus G72) And it does it in both Windows 7 and Windows 8. I'm guessing it might be an update from Windows that may be triggering it? I have the setting on the power management portion of the hub to allow the unit to turn off componenets. But it still stays lit up after the pc shuts down regardless.Any suggestions?

What happens if you unplug the hub from the computer?

So how dumb am I? I forgot this pc had a usb3.0 port and that is where the hub was plugged into. Plugged it into a Usb 2.0 port and have shut down the computer with the keyboard, mouse, etc turning off successfully. We shall see if it actually sticks though, like i said it turned off on the 3.0 when windows was installed and a while after that. If it starts to do the same thing I will let you know. and Tijo when I unplug the usb from the pc the components still stay on but will turn off if i plug the port back in (2.0,3.0)
