    Hi all, is there such thing as a hard(ish) protective case for a 15" laptop which you can essentially strap the laptop into and leave in there, even when using it?

    No, not really. There are too many problems with such an idea.

    You'll get the best results if you buy a regular suitcase and cut foam insert to fit your device.
    Still there will be problems like overheating and how to fit all the accessories you need.

    Pelican has made several such cases but they are mostly for older computers (4:3 screens).
