are you sure u get channels from your dorm?

my dorm uses Comcast cable if you want more than the local news channels from OTA...... this, u'll choose comcast

your dorm might have ahuge antenna on the roof for you guys.. then u'll choose antenna

Have you tried process of elimination?

Wont take that long trying all the different video standards in either cable or antenna mode to see what works.

Id start with "cable" and "digitalTV"

Let me know how it works out because I am interested in getting a TV Tuner for my cable TV. I want to know how much success you have in getting the signal from your cable to your laptop versus just through the airwaves.

Yes, please put your results down. I am having a similar issues, except I have been using the pinnacle TV wizard to scan for channels via cable feed input at my dorms also but it doesn't detect any channels! I do receive the local channels through an antennae, and regardless of the few high-def channels in the area, I would much prefer the many channels offered in my dorm.

I managed to get it to work before I upgraded to Windows 7 on vista ultimate x64, but given that they have the same kernel I figured it would not make much of a difference. Also, seeing that it can receive over the air feeds, it still leads me to believe that I'm just missing something to make it work with my cable. Has anyone else upgraded to 7 from vista and experiencing this issue?
