Well, my Plantronics .Audio 450s died after over a year of use, they were great. Good sound quality and the mic was great. The thing that set these apart was that they were an earbud headset. I hate over the ear headsets and the way sound quality is for them, plus for long sessions, they get hot and uncomfortable.

So I am looking for an alternative headset. I prefer earbud over in-ear but in-ear might be ok too. I've tried to stay clear of the .Audio 480 because of the in-ear part.

I found the Razer Moray+ which seem to be close enough, but I am a bit skeptical of the mic being where it is (like the iPhone mic on the actual wire of the headset).

So has anyone tried the Moray+, 480, or any other earbud/in-ear headset that could suggest a replacement for my dead 450?

Reason I ask is Plantronics discontinued and removed the 450 from their stocks with no replacement.

Thanks in advance for anyone that helps.

I know you're not fond of over-ear headsets because of quality issues, but give the Plantronics GameCom 377 a try. It's $50, and the best sound quality I've ever heard in a headset. Heck, I use them as my main headphones, they sound that good.

Otherwise, I've heard lots of good things about the Moray.
