I recently purchase my first laptop. (It is a Dell 6000 with a 15.4 inch screen.)

I plan to be on the move a lot with it and would like to find a case I can just open and use with the notebook still inside. Something smaller than a mobile office, though, just big enough for the power cord and a couple of small items.

I have searched lots of sites and the best things I can find are the Lappro (kind of big) and the Lapdog (kind of long and spread out. I'd like to be able to work in restaurants, at the park, the beach, a plane, etc.

Just thought I'd see if you all had any suggestions! I would REALLY appreciate it!

I just got the case that came with the laptop, or rather, I ordered the case when I ordered my laptop, and I couldn't be happier! It's comfortable, roomy, with all kinds of neat pockets for everything that I could want. And yes, I have the Dell i6000.

    I liked this case:

I just finished a review of it and was very pleased, the review should be posted shortly, or I can email you a copy if you need to buy it sooner.

I am sure you are aware of this but, one thing to think about when using the laptop inside of anything is heat issues. Depending on the style of the case you could be causing the laptop to not vent correctly.

I actually own a tekmod for RadTech. Depending on how large your backpack is, it may fit into it. The tekmod is pretty slim compared to other cases out there, but it is not skin tight like some cases. The dimensions on their site say the XL (what i think you will need) is 42 x 30.5 x 6.5cm. I'd test out ur backpack to see if something that size fits. The case is soft so it will crush a little, but not much because their is plastic in between the walls.

That is a good image of the size.

The Radtech case is large, I don't know about fitting it into a backpack.

    Thanks for all your help!

I ordered the Shoreline case today. Looks like it fits nice and snug and will provide some protection from dust, etc. when I'm outside. Got the unlimited Cingular PC card yesterday....so when the case gets here I'm ready to go all around! [ :)]

    Thanks again!

The laptop is likely to overheat if used inside a case.I would not use it

inside for any length of time.

Do people actually use their laptops while it's in the case? Seems kind of pointless to me, you lose most of the beauty of your laptop and get all the inconvenience of having a case in your way...

Yes, the point of the Tekmod is to use it in the case.

I am very interested in purchasing the tekmod, but will it be able to hold my 9300's power adapter?
