    Hi,

    I am in search of the best portable headphone with mic within a budget of 50-60$. Will love to have your suggestions :)

    My choice:
    1. It must be very portable
    2. Excellent music with RICH BASS and sharp treble.
    3. A great mic having noise reduction

    Waiting for your reply

    To be honest, you're asking a lot out of a gaming headset for $50. Headsets at that price range will usually have over-emphasized bass (to give the effect of "feeling" the sound) at the expense of clarity and detail.

    But there are a few items that try to overcome that problem as best that they can within that price range, and give you a "bang-for-your-buck" value. The ones that come to mind are:

    * Corsair HS1 USB Surround Sound Headset - $65
    Reviewers consistently praise this headset for the high sound quality for its price, and the comfort of wearing them even after several hours.

    * Plantronics GameCom 377 Stereo Headset - $35
    Haven't used them myself, but one of the highly regarded posters on these forums (Mastershroom) swears by them, for the quality that you get in its price range.

    * Plantronics GameCom 777 Surround Sound Headset - $60
    Same headphone / headset hardware as the GameCom 377 Stereo headset. Except this adds a virtual surround processor into the package, for surround sound support.

    If you're willing to spend around little more up front ($135), you can start playing with the entry-level audiophile gear and REALLY start playing around with sound quality... like:

    * Audio Technica ATH-A700 ($125) +
    * Zalman ZM-1 Clip-on Microphone - $10

    Yeah, your budget is extremely low for what appear to be high standards.

    The Gamecom377/777 are excellent headphones. My only concern with them is that they don't feel very durable, so I wouldn't say they're very portable. But I love my 777s.

    Yes, that's them. They are indeed bulky. If you want something portable, look into a pair of folding headphones (or maybe even earbuds) and a clip on mic. Or even these Corsairs: Vengeance® 1100 Communication Headset - Vengeance Gaming Headsets - Vengeance Gaming
