G9 is outrageosly expensive but it is an incredible mouse. Sign up for Newegg mailers and they usually offer it for 79.95.
-
I voted Death Adder, I use a diamondback right now that I swap between desktop and notebook but have ordered the DA for the notebook. I like the thumb buttons alot and both fit my hand perfectly.
Make sure the size is right for you, alot of the complaints I read about on mice is the size is wrong for them, BB is great they have floor models you can try out of most of the gaming mice they sell. -
logitech g5 ftw! cheap (cheapest) and works just as good as the others
-
I chose G5.
-
I chose Death Adder. Awesome mouse. Might buy a Lachesis in the future too though.
-
I chose DeathAdder; it's awesome and it's $50 at newegg
-
I tried a lot of different mice, including the Sidewinder, and I chose the Logitech G9. It's been great, and worth the price. In this case you really get what you pay for, IMO it's the best.
Here's a great deal, this is where I bought mine, it's only $65.97!

G9 is good in my opinion, but really everyone has their own favorite.
-
you cannot go wrong with either the G5 or the DeathAdder.

Firstly, I must say I have spent a good two hours browsing around these forums. There is so much good information here and I just got sucked right in.
Anyway, we have all of these mice at the office, except the Lachesis, but I have never been a fan of the Razor mice.
We recently reviewed the Sidewinder mouse. Although I wasn't the one who reviewed it, I got to spend a lot of time with it. It's a good mouse, but just not for me. Check out the review here:

Personally, I would choose the Logitech G5. I have always been a fan of the design and it just feels right in my hand. -
I picked the G5 because of its a price, and it kind of reminds me of the MX 518 that i have.

On many of the consumer comments sections on review sites, I have read about consistent problems with Razers - specifically Death Adder's drivers..like for no reason the computer wont recognize the mouse all of a sudden...anyone hear/experience this?
-
actually the lachesis has alot of driver problems. many people say the mouse keeps jumping. i recommend using the g9 or the deathadder since i have both of them. if you have enough money i would go towards the g9 more. i really like the amount customization you can get witht he g9. i highly recommend the g9 for a gaming mouse.
-
DA for me...I've used it a few times and really like it, have a Diamondback at the moment. Had MX510 before
the G5 (same shape as 510)would be my 2nd pick

I say get the Logitech G9 deal at Mwave and be done with it. It's such a great deal on what IMO is the best gaming mouse there is. I've had no issues with mine at all, nor am I aware that there are any with this mouse, it's just great all around.

I have small hands too, and it fits me perfectly. The left bottom side has a little lip that your thumb rests on, it's so comfortable and controllable! Logitech just plain did this thing right. I use it as my only mouse. For every day tasks it's really good, for gaming I think it's really the best, and I've tried all the ones you've mentioned. Get that Mwave deal, that's what I did. Mwave is a great reseller, I've been buying from them for over ten years, I've bought entire system builds in the thousands of dollars from them, and they've always given me the best customer service experience I've ever had. So to me it's the best gaming mouse, the best price, and the best reseller all in one deal!
-
Yeah, I also bought my g9 from mwave as well. Back when I was shopping around, they almost always had a rebate offer for the G9. Came brand new.
As you have three out of the box configs (no grip, wide grip, and the "gamer grip" whose name escapes me at the moment), I doubt many people will have issues with holding this mouse unless they're left handed by nature. I love the wide load grip personally.
My favorite part of the G9 has to be the extremely fast scroll wheel. But the mouse isn't perfect. The scroll button feels extremely awkward to push down. -
Ya. even the shape of G9 is very edgy.. G5 is better..
Although Lachesis is way better than them.. It is perfect for people with long fingers -

the sidewinder kicks butt. i have small fat hands, and it is the most comfortable thing since....................................since.........................something awesomely comfortable anyway. and the thumb buttons are perfectly placed. it has everthing going for it.
-
Now as for the G5, I'll say that it is more comfortable for everyday use, but for gaming, the profile of the G9 just smokes it. Like I said, you'd have to actually game with the G9 to appreciate the profile, it's just plain better.
It's funny, because I bought two of the G9s from Mwave, one for myself, and one for a family member. The first thing my family member told me after getting his G9 dialed in, was that he felt like he was cheating by using it! It increased his speed and accuracy that much, and it did the same for me. More speed and accuracy = more "Boom, headshot"! -
-
i have a razor copperhead, and i love the thing to death, I have never used a g5 but i honestly cannot see how it could be any better than this amazing mouse. too bad it isn't on your list....

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
I've had my G5 going on two years now, and have no inkiling whatsoever to spend money on anything else. Its wicked fast, comfortable, no real need for extra software.

Awesome feedback guys....here is what I did...I loved the looks of the Sidewinder as well as the price...but once I tried it out - found it was too long for me...my thumb is too short - it's next to impossible to reach that black button in the front unless I moved my entire hand to the front of the mouse....I tried the G5 and found it to be extremely comfortable and was planning on buying it..the sale was done though and it was back up to $57.99. Finally I found the G9 for $59.99 and it was all over. This mouse is spectacular. Yeah, it does have some extra unneccesary bells and whistles but it is extremely comfortable and for the price I got it for - it was a no brainer! Thanks for all the feedback..and lets keep this thread going for others!

Glad to help!

$57.99 for a G5? I think I paid less than $35 for mine way back when.
-
-
got to recommend the Deathadder, very accurate, very comfortable over extended periods and looks great. I'm sure the lachesis would be just as good if not better but the price is too high really atm in comparison to the Deathadder
-
The OP already purchased the G9; no need to give him anymore suggestions really.
