I play games quite a bit on my school laptop... games like Guildwars and Fallout 3. As I understand, there is a feature on most if not all laptops that make the system run slow when it runs unplugged. I was wondering if there was some sort of item, like power to go, that I could plug my laptop into so the games run smooth.
This is how I imagined my setup. My laptop will be running with the battery in, but instead of plugging into a wall, it will be plugged into a portable outlet of some sort. I don't expect the thing to charge my laptop to max, just something that can continuously charge my laptop so I can game smoothly for an extended period of time (at least one hour, preferably two)
I took a look at some black and decker equipment, but I am not sure how they work. Anyone used anything like this before that could maybe do some testing for me?
Thanks in advance.

This would mean lugging a secondary battery around...
Why don't you carry your power brick?
(There is something like this for small devices, BBC click presented it once) -
I do carry my power brick, problem is, if there are no outlets nearby, where do I plug my notebook to play games smoothly?
I won't be using it as a backup battery. My battery will be healthy if not full, I just need something to feed power into my laptop so it can run games without being plugged into a wall outlet.
Once again, here's what I am looking for...
My laptop needs to be plugged into some sort of energy feeder (outlet, car battery) to play games smoothly. I need to take that outlet and bring it with me, in case I am no where an outlet, like parks and what not. Every once in awhile I go to parks or creeks to do some wacom art, but a game break is sometimes nice. I cannot however, pull my outlet out of the wall and bring it with me. This is where I need help. Is there some sort of... item, that can charge using an outlet, then release the charge later to help charge my laptop.
I am not looking for a secondary battery, my battery will not need to be changed, but even if the battery-life is full, it requires a plug-in to run at maximum power... which I need for the half hour or so gaming breaks.
