    Hello everyone,

I've been using the forums here as a resource for information but haven't bothered to make a post yet. I have a bit of an obscure question regarding my new alienware m14x laptop.

With my purchase I also purchased a Targus universal AC/DC adapter with a much smaller profile than the brick that comes with the m14x. The only problem is that the targus adapter is only 90w (as I discovered on the first bootup, I got a messege saying that the adapter was only 90w, and not the 150w reccommended for this laptop). The laptop still charged off it but I'm wondering what disadvantages there would be to using it? Will it still charge the laptop, just slower? Also will using the laptop while plugged in to the 90w adapter drain the battery? I'd much prefer to carry arround the smaller profile adapter, but don't want to compromise my system in any significant way.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers!

    -Finn

During heavy use it may not charge at all but other than slower charging overall, I don't see a major problem.
