    Power problem (110vlts - 220 volts)

    i have an hp pavillion notebook which i bought frm the US which has 110 volts and i want to use it in england tht has 220 volts so can any1 advice me a power converter or is there sum button tht can change the power thing or sumthiing

    If your AC adapter does not state it is okay for 110-220V you will need to get a transformer that converts UK plugs (with UK 220V) to US plugs (with US 110V). You can't hit a button to make it work, you'll need to buy this.

    I'm not sure. I'll have to look around, but my first guess to find one would be to check Circuit City and Radio Shack.

    Normally every AC adapter has a marking: voltage: 110-230V (or 220V) and 50-60Hz so that it can be used everywhere. All you need to buy then is a standard pc connector cable that goes from the socket to the adapter, and you're set. If it doesn't say the 220V thing, you'll need to go to HP to ask for a decent adapter. Hope this helps

    Give us a readable picture of your laptops adapter.

    Cause if you don't need a transformer (can be bought at RadioShack but you need one that can handle the watt output of your adapter; see please still give the picture); all you need is basically change the "teeth" of your adapter plug.
