Depends on how much money you have, and how much you print.

If money isn't a problem, go with a laser or inkjet. If you don't print frequently, go with laser.

If money is tight, get an inkjet and refill kit. I like my HP Officejet 4215xi.

I have another scanner that's designed for scanning books.

Consider the HP Officejet 6310. Its a little over your budget though.

Other options to look at include the Lexmark X4580 (about $100).

The HP F4180 is an excellent all-in-one for under $100, I have been using it for almost a year now.

I was really turned off by the 50 dollar price tag on the F4180, but reviews have been good. How often do you use? How the scanner look?
