Well, I have a HP PSC 2175v all-in-one printer. Whenever, I try to scan a picture, it says "No Connection, turn on or connect computer or install HP software." I have the HP software installed and it is connected to my laptop via USB port. Why is it unable to scan? The printer of it is fine and can print pages. I am quite confused about this situation. Can anyone help me out?

Reinstall the drivers.

'Select TWAIN Source' shoul be an item in the menu of any program that can accept scanned images. Your scanner should show up there. It should also show up in 'Control Panel -> Scanners and Cameras'. If not, you don't have a driver for it, and can probably install one from the control panel.

I also had an HP. They make great printers. Mine was in all in one with fax. We got it refurbished and it lasted about 3 1/2 years. I started having the same problem and then it wouldn't print. No matter how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers or messed with the twain settings. Still nada. So we bought a refurbished cannon which has been awesome.

did the usb cable come with the printer or did you buy it separately? i had an all in one printer which i had to buy the usb cable separately and it never scanned until one day i got a new cable from a friend to try and it worked fine. Turned out the cable was faulty from when i brought it. One of the pins was broken.
Printer is unable to scan
