I have an Alienware M15x, and a Razer Mamba, they were working fine, but suddenly my computer wouldn't recognize the mouse, and so i am unable to use it... Any suggestions?

If you can give a few more details and try some things, it'll help narrow down where the problem lies.

Have you tried the Mamba in both wireless mode and with the cable plugged directly into the mouse? Have you tried different USB ports on the Alienware? If you're using it in wireless mode, have you tried the "connect" buttons on the front of the dock and the bottom of the mouse? How about plugging the mouse in to a different computer?

    Thnx for ur answer
I have tried connecting it in both wireless and wired mode, i have also tried to connect in a different usb port, but it doesn't recognize it...
Could it be a problem with the driver, i have tried re installing the driver, but still nothing...

The mouse should function on its own even without the driver software installed, since it saves your settings on the on-board memory. The fact that it used to work and now doesn't indicates that it's probably something with the mouse itself, but just to be sure, try plugging it in (in wired mode) to a different computer and see if it works.

I just realized that the cable of the razer mamba has a very small torn, i think that could be the problem...
Do u know if I can get another cable, or where i can buy one?

The cable itself? As far as I know it's a standard USB male to micro-USB male cable, though the micro-USB end of it is custom designed to fit the Mamba. Try contacting Razer and see if they can just send a replacement cable.

yeah razer should just send you a replacement cable if you still under warranty which i think is two years?

until you get the cable you can just use a regular mini usb cable (it shouldnt be a micro cable unless they revised it into one but mines not a micro usb). you either find one that fits or shave the plastic down on the cable to make it fit. (do not shave the plastic on the mouse a cable is cheaper to replace if you mess up)

you could also just shave a cable before you contact razer to make sure its not the mouse thats messed up.

I knew it was one of the two. I always get mini and micro-USB mixed up. :p

They should just pick one and stick with it...I mean, wasn't the point of USB to make one standard connection in the first place? Hence Universal Serial Bus...

Thnx for all the help guys, i am still under warranty coverage, but the fact that i have moved to a different country from where I bought the mouse doesn't allow me to replace the cable...
Thnx again for ur suggestions, I think it would be easier just to buy a standard mini usb cable, since i will be using the mouse mostly in wireless mode :)
