OK, so I bought a VX revolution a few days ago, got it, opened it, installed drivers... Scroll wheel doesn't work, can't scroll up or down, but I can middle click, and left/right scroll.

So, got Logitech to send a replacement out, that will be here in a few days.

Next, I bought an MX revolution today, and now this one won't switch from Click scroll to free scroll at all, it was working earlier today, but not anymore. Also, the left scroll never worked on this one, but everything else about the scroll wheel worked.

Am I just having really bad luck? Or are both of these mice extremely fragile. Because I love them to death, I work excel files all day and being able to use the free scroll helps a lot. Plus the MX is nice for gaming, I play age of conan and the thumb scroll on the MX makes for nice hot key placements.

And just to clear things up, VX revolution was for my notebook, MX revolution was for my desktop.

I'm thinking you have bad luck. My VX Revolution has been a very reliable mouse and has survived some drops. Not big drops mind you, but still drops (2-3 feet onto carpet). My mouse is also in pretty much constant use since I'm at my laptop most of the day.

Glad to see that there are non-defective mice out there, just gotta find one.

You shouldn't worry with Logitech if it indeed goes out within the warranty period. I've had great experiences. They sent me a new MX518 when my MX500 died without requesting the MX500 back. Logitech CSR was courteous and easy going throughout (North American!) unlike certain companies.
