I often travel to the Northwest with my laptop and need to carry my laptop for significant distances in rainy weather. I have a great laptop backpack that I like and prefer, but its not exactly waterproof. It gets damp inside the bag. In the past I would just wrap my laptop in a trash bag. But thats probably not the best solution. I could use an umbrella, but I hate them, I prefer a good rain jacket with hood.
What ideas do others have to protect your laptop in rainy weather (besides just the backpack itself).

How big is it? If it is a smaller notebook you can probably find a large enough zip lock bag.

Hey there,
You could also try something like this:
Belkin F8N038 14" - 15.4" Notebook Memory Foam Sleeve
http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8N038-14-Notebook-Memory/dp/B000OH1QZ2
Not sure of the size of your lappy, so I went with the 15.4". It's made of waterproof materials to protect, and has nice handles
Hope that helps,

Here's another suggestion:

And if you're daring enough, you could make your own waterproof sleeve

...Belkin is a bit cheaper...
LOL..I will stick with purchasing vs. making one!

umbrella ftw.

plastic bag?
or get a water resistance laptop but they (or it) are not cheap, like Panasonic toughbook -
I like STB! I use the integrated rain hood that covers the entire backpack and stores in the bottom.
