I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 from 2006 that uses Windows XP. The AVG (?) cable that connects it to lcds and tvs seems to be broken. Is there a Push to tv model that works with it? Netgear's most recent push to tv required me to download intel display and that didn't work on this laptop, though perhaps I downloaded the wrong program.

That Dell doesn't come with Intel's WiDi, so you won't be able to wireless push video to the TV. Maybe you could try a DVI cable with DVI-to-VGA adapter? I'm assuming that you mean that your VGA port isn't working.

If your VGA port is broken you can opt for a usb --> vga adapter they are pretty cheap these days.

Should be fine for movies, though games in my experience are not a good idea.
