I bought an HP Photosmart C5280, I've been having trouble with color printing. I will print out one sheet perfectly, but subsequent sheets will be lacking color. The weird thing is if I leave it for a while, or come back to the print job a couple of days later, I can get one good copy again, and then the same thing happens to the following pages.

If I run the "clean print cartridge" option before printing, I can print several pages without this happening. I don't think I should have to do this, and the troubleshooter even warns you that this is a drain on ink levels.

It isn't an ink level issue because I have probably printed less than 50 sheets with the print cartridges that came with my computer. They are not refilled, and they are HP in brand.

My sister has had the same problem with her HP Photosmart 3100 series.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me!
