So just today i got the logitech bluetooth freepulse headphones, as a birthday present, just what i wanted. ;)

it comes with a dongle to connect the bluetooth headphones to a device. i tried it with my psp and it works fine with the dongle connected. i thought, since i have bluetooth built in my hp dv6000t, that i could connect the freepulse headphones to my laptop with no dongle. i can do this right? i tried connecting it , and it picked up no other device other than my BT mouse. i turned the headphones on, so im pretty sure they were in "discovery mode."

Any help? I really want to be able to connect these awesome headphones to my lappy with no dongle or anything. These headphones are sweet!!!

    thanks. -Matt

Check if the internal bluetooth in your HP supports:
    Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)

Not all do. The problem with bluetooth is that not all bluetooth adapters support all profiles.

BT mouse. Generally, you can only connect one BT device at a time. The dongle may make it work okay.

Yes i tried it on my laptop with the dongle and it of course works fine. And im certain that my laptop can connect much more than one BT device at a time. When i search for my headphones on my laptop (search for bt devices), it does not pick up my headphones.

and i really do not know if my hp dv6000t supports "A2DP"

i asked somebody a long time ago on the notebookreview forums if i could connect the freepulse headphones to my hp laptop with no dongle if i get it with bluetooth installed on my laptop. they said i could connect it with no dongle to my laptop, so im pretty sure it had "A2DP"

has anyone had this problem? I thought somebody would....

Did you try connecting it without the mouse but with only the headphones?

Probably the dumbest question yet, but meh. :p lol

The procedure should be the same for the headphones portion of the instructions. For my sony headset, I have to hold the power button for 7 seconds for it to become pairable. For my logitech mouse I press the reset button. The devices will stay discoverable only for a few minutes and there's normally a flashing light on the device showing that it's accepting connections.

Logitech is probably different than sony but it still should be in the manual.

Thanks for the help here. It got me most of the way to succeeding. All I needed was the headphone security code which I found somewhere else was 0000.

Here's the whole story on how I got my new Logitech Freepulse Wireless headphones to work with my Dell laptop with Dell Wireless 355 with Bluetooth running XP-Pro. It might help someone to have all the steps described.

    1) Made sure I was using the latest Bluetooth 5.1.0.3200 driver (downloaded from Dell). This might not be necessary but I wanted to eliminate 'out of date' drivers as a possible cause of problems.

    2) Pressed and held the CONNECT button on the headphones for about 15 seconds until the connect lights flashed red/blue. Note the red connect light flashed slowely, then more quickly and then went OFF for about 8 seconds before the red/blue flashing began. I just kept holding that connect button.

    3) Launched "My Bluetooth Places" and selected "Find BlueTooth Device.

    4) Right-clicked on the Freepulse wireless icon that appeared and selected "Pair Device". Entered security code 0000. There was now be a small red arrow below the Freepulse Wireless icon.

    5) Right-clicked again on the Freepulse Wireless icon and select "Connect Audio Sync". The headphone light was now a steady BLUE. I was connected.

Thanks again for the help I found here :)
