So I'm buying a 5.1 speaker system today and I was thinking :
Is it possible to hook up the speakers to my laptop and somehow connect the headphones through the speakers? I need this because my laptop only has 1 front channel jack and 1 microphone jack.
The speakers are Creative Aspire A500.

It depends. Your speakerset may have a 3,5mm jack for headset somewhere. Your laptop can also possibly restack the jacks, so you can maybe assign mic jack to function as another output.

You should give more information about what is the model of ur laptop.

if you have only "2 jacks" then you possibly can't connect a 5.1 speaker set...

Most speakers I have seen have a headphone jack that you can plug headphones into.

However, going back to your laptop - not all, but some laptop can output 5.1 - if you have 2 jacks only then you can't as you'd need 3 of them.
This means you possibly need an external soundcard too.
