I'm looking for a case for my 17" widescreen notebook.

Currently, I'm trying to decide between the following two cases.

My question is this - has anyone here ever dealt with either company before? I really like the green case but I'm concerned about the durability of it (not to mention the instant "Scotchgarding" that would have to be done). The black case is really nice too but a little more than I was hoping to spend (although if someone tells me Mobile Edge makes good cases, I won't bat an eyelash in purchasing it!).

    Thank you in advance! :)

the black mobile edge got my vote because the interesting feature of "Exclusive Wireless Security Shield™ protects Bluetooth" although from the photo; i'm not sure about the quality, especially the handle, its seems a bit too thin and doesn't seems to provide enough support, as seing you will be carrying a 17" laptop, which tend to be rather heavy.

both doesn't seems to offer enough protection from medium to heavy commuting. unless you only plan to go from your house ->car->destination.

both company seems to be gimicky and untrustworthy by the looks of it.

Wobble, you actually pointed out a great feature Mobile Edge offers. The Wireless Security Shield does protect your Bluetooth enabled phone or PDA from being hacked into, and is great when popping into a meeting. As for the quality, we stand behind every case we make with a Lifetime Warranty.

Meowsly, The Geneva is a great choice, in fact the 17" Geneva is one of our most popular styles. The handles are specially designed to carry the weight of a 17" laptop, and are flattened at the top so the bag sits securely on your shoulder while providing the maximum comfort. Also, the handle placement points are double stitched and riveted to provide added strength. I personally recommend this product, as I just bought both my mom and girlfriend the Geneva for their birthdays. To show good faith, here is a coupon code you can use on any Mobile Edge product. When checking out type in Coupon Code: NR10 and you will receive 10% off your purchase. (Anyone reading this can use the coupon code)

Check out our video review on our blog site from BuyTV on The Geneva.

I hope this information helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me directly [email protected] or you can call me up at 714.399.1418. Take Care!

I like the idea of the wireless security shield even though I have no use for it whatsoever as I don't use Bluetooth nor do I have a PDA. I don't actually do a whole lot of travelling. The reason I'm needing a case is because I don't have anywhere to just leave my laptop out and I have a cat so even if I did, I'd be too afraid he would get really interested in the new "toy" (as he's always really fascinated when I have to use the printer). Therefore, the new toy needs protection. :D

Thank you for the reply, Jason. I have to admit that even at this time, I am leaning more towards the Geneva. :)

I'm glad that helps. Happy to hear that you're leaning towards the Geneva :). Another suggestion might be our Ultra Tote (but it applies to any of our Ultra Totes). In comes in a 17", but the computer Safety Cell is removable, so it can double as either a laptop bag or a nice tote bag. Just a suggestion. Here's a link to our site if you want to check it out. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am always happy to help :).
