If my laptop has an internal bt card, can I connect to a bt kbd/mouse combo without using the dongle that usually comes with the combo?

you should be able to. Just make the BT scan for devices with bluetooth and the mouse and keyboard should come up. It worked for me with logitech

Thanks mate, appreciate the answer. I've ordered a Logitech MX 5500, and will give it a try.

    Again, thanks.
