Hi guys, for people with laptop coolers, are they still worth it to buy? Any brands you could recommend?

If you want to stay on a desk, the Cooler Master Notepal U3 Plus is probably the best option as it has movable fans which can be upgraded.

I couldn't agree with this more. I have one for my laptop and it greatly helps the temps stay cool by pumping air into the open ducts. Now grant it, it does depend on how many air slots your laptop has on the bottom of it as one that has next to none won't benefit as much as some that are much more open. I'm on the verge of selling mine which has been modded to be superior to the normal Notepal U3. If/When I do I'll make sure to hit you up to see if you're interested.

Is the U3 big enough to hold a 17.3" laptop?

They don't make the U3 (non plus) anymore, but the U3 Plus is definitely big enough for a 17.3 inch laptop.

My bad. Looks like it's the U3 Plus that I have in my Amazon cart.

So I'm guessing if said laptop doesn't have open vents on the bottom that a cooler won't help? Welp. Lol. Might need to change up a few plans then...

Does the laptop you ordered not have vents on the bottom? That would be odd, right? Even my "budget" GP73 has wide open venting.

I looked at reviews again to see the bottom. I'm back on track lol.

I'm high AF tonight on a new medicine and should probably just back away from the computer :biglaugh:
