so right now im using an external screen with my laptop, and when i open something it goes to the external but tahts fine with me.

Also when i play games it opens on the other monitor again that's not a problem to me but the thing that wonders me is that when i am playing game, i want to go to my laptop screen i still have to alt+tab and my game minimize. Is this inevitable? or can i fix it somehow? thanks.

    I'm using a 17" emprex monitor.

You can avoid this behavior by running the game in a windowed mode if it supports it.

The only downside to running the game in windowed mode is that it kills the frame rates, especially if you have aero enabled.

I think that you have to set the windowed mode setting in the game, but I'll dig around in Nvidia control panel for you.

Haha yeah I know what you mean. My friend has a Macbook Pro, and he uses VMware Fusions for his windows needs. I tried loading Sins of a Solar Empire onto it (it was the only game I had on my flash drive), and I use the mouse to move around the map instead of the keyboard. Everytime I moved to the edge of the screen, Mac's Expose came up, minimizing the game. Very annoying.

I did some googling, and apparently, it's not possible to have one screen have a fullscreen game, while the second monitor has something else on it. Windowed mode is the only way. :(

How can I check whether windowed mode is supported or not? And how to go with it if it's supported?
