I hope this is in the right forum. I was thinking about getting the Compal IFL90(not positive yet), but these questions go for all laptops. I was thinking about getting a 22" lcd widescreen monitor. This one looks like everything I want: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001096 but I'm not sure if there is anything better or something I have overlooked. Questions: What makes an lcd monitor 1080p? Would a 20" lcd widescreen be more practical? How much better/noticeable is a 2ms to a 5ms response time? Any other thoughts, comments, suggestions, etc? I would be able to watch tv with it easily enough with a tvtuner, right?
I was also thinking that I should get a docking station for the monitor, keyboard, printer, etc. Is it necessary? Does it cause any slowdown in performance?
Thanks for all your help. And I'm sorry if these questions have already been answered somewhere else.

Just a heads up that the Compal IFL90 only has a VGA connection, for high end LCDs, you really want a HDMI, or at least a DVI connection - a digital connection will be much better then an analog one.

I've heard that the Dell flat panel wide monitors were very good.

If the compal ifl90 doesn't have hdmi, then which laptop with comparable specs does?

The Asus G1s has and HDMI port and has the "same" video card but doesnt have the built in tv tuner but you can always get an external one.

If I were to get a docking station like Targus ExpressCard™ Notebook Docking Station with the laptop, would it perform just as well as having the DVI on the laptop?
