This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Quick Tuner/cable box question

    My laptop is coming with an external HD tuner. If I have read correctly I will need a HD cable box set in order to get all of the channels offered (rather than the over the air antennae). Now I've noticed most cable boxes come with either AV inputs or Component inputs (or both). Any one know if I would be able to play things through the cable box's inputs, i.e. gaming consoles?
