I need to purchase a mouse that is quiet so that I can use it in the quiet study room at my school. None of the mice I've been able to find online meet this requirement. Does anyone know of a good, cheap, quiet wireless mouse?

    Thanks!

If we're talking about mouse clicks and an environment that can't even tolerate that, then you'll need a touchpad. There are a few larger touchpads on the market - the biggest probably being the Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch.

Well, some mice are much louder than others.. I've seen people using mice that are pretty quiet, but my G15 for instance is very loud. I don't need a silent mouse, just something that's not super loud.

Go to BestBuy and try them out then. I have never heard of one mouse "clicking louder than another".

And if people are really that anal about it being absolutely dead quiet in a study room, they can go somewhere else. I wouldn't care how loud my mouse clicks are. Tell the people to get over themselves if they have a problem.

A mouse click should be no worse than typing on a regular keyboard.

Well are you trying to make no sound at all? Or trying to hide that you're playing minesweeper and thus clicking constantly? No mouse can cover up that

The truly dirt-cheap (& awful) mice might use metal domes instead of microswitches, which should be quieter. Anything using microswitches is going to make roughly the same noise.

The exception is the Silent Mouse from the purveyor of the crappiest but most interesting of crapgadgets, Thanko. But are you going to bother importing one?

That's all I can suggest, too. I know online sites won't really go over the clicking loudness.

Check out the new Logitech M600 or the new Logitech Cube. You will not find any other noise that is quieter than those two.
