I was planning buying this mouse because of it's nice adjustable weights and comfort. Along with the nice pinky and thumb rest. However I heard many horrible reviews about this mouse, especially on Amazon. Pages of customers giving it 1 star.

So can anyone here testify is the R.A.T 7 even worth it? If not what would you recommend. Personally the primary thing I want in a mouse is comfort. A plus would be if it had additional buttons.

    I can spend ~$100.

Its a alright mouse. But because ofnits rad looking design, its a bit on the fragile side and dust tends to get into the gaps alot. The software works half the time. Madcatz is a company that used to make cheap aftermarket items. Id recomend you look for something else.

I had a R.A.T. 7, but returned it one day later. No matter how I adjusted it, it was just not comfortable for me. The pinky rest didn't really fit my hand either. It's too bad because I really like the cyborg look.

I got a Razer Lachesis 5600. It's a pretty large mouse, but I like it. And it's got cool lights!

Same here. I bought it because the tech magazines like Maximum PC and such rated it 9/10, and i gotta admit the design was pretty cool looking. But when I actually bought it, it was so uncomfortable, no matter how i customized it. I returned it and bought the Logitech G700, awesome mouse.

It's hella cool in white. I have one after getting rid of the stock RAT7 to match a Mac I don't use very often.

The sensor's nothing much, the adjustability is really debatable in terms of whether it's genuinely ergonomic - I don't think it is, and the balance of the mouse is poor.

If you want a cool looking thing to pair with your other cool looking stuff, buy.

Razer just came out with their Ouroboros which has thumb rest and pinkie rest and adjustable palm. If you are looking for those, then Razer is another option for ya.

Thanks for the replies. After looking at more reviews, I decided to go for the Deathadder.
